Paris is really one of the most amazing cities in the world. I’m sure many of us dream of visiting the truly beautiful places there. When I think of Paris, there’s one monument that stands out – the Eiffel Tower itself! But did you know that the Eiffel Tower wasn’t always where it’s now? And there’s a whole lot more to see! Let me take you on a journey to discover Paris’s traveling tower and other very popular monuments in Paris.
The story
The Eiffel Tower is often called a “traveling tower” because it’s quite a history. It wasn’t always planned to stay in just one spot. It was built for the 1889 World’s Fair so as to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. Can you even imagine how excited people must’ve been when they first saw it? At first, some Parisians themselves didn’t even like the idea of it! But now it’s the iconic symbol of the city.
For many years it was planned to be taken down after the fair. That would have been a real loss for Paris. I can hardly imagine a Paris without the Eiffel Tower. Thankfully people came to realize its importance and it stayed up. And today it’s one of the most visited monuments in the whole world! If you ever get a chance to visit, you’ll see why it’s so special itself.
Popular Monuments in Paris
Paris has so many incredible monuments. I’ve had the opportunity to visit several, and each one is just so unique itself! Besides the Eiffel Tower, there’s the Notre-Dame Cathedral. When I saw it the first time, I couldn’t believe it was so tall and so beautiful. The church is really full of history itself. It’s famous because of its incredibly impressive architecture and amazing sculptures. I’ve spent hours staring at all the tiny little details themselves.
Another famous place is the Arc de Triomphe itself. Every time I walk by, I’m amazed by its size and its beauty. The Arc honours those who fought for France itself. When I stand beneath it, I can almost feel the history all around me. And the view from the top itself? It’s quite incredible! You can see the whole city including the Eiffel Tower in the distance itself.
The Louvre Museum is also something that you should see. I still remember my first time walking through its wonderful grand entrance. Inside, I saw famous paintings like the Mona Lisa. It’s a place where art lovers like me can lose themselves in time itself. If you love history and art, the Louvre is a must-see destination in Paris itself!
Idea
I think one of the most interesting things about the Eiffel Tower itself is that it was almost moved! Back when it was first built, some people didn’t think it belonged in Paris at all themselves. They wanted to move it to a completely different place or maybe even take it down itself. But the tower was so expertly built that it was virtually impossible to move itself. Can you imagine the Eiffel Tower being somewhere else? It’s difficult to picture that to myself.
When the Eiffel Tower was first built, it was 324 meters tall itself. Back then that was huge! It stood out right from everything else in Paris itself. Many people thought it was rather ugly and some even wanted to eliminate it itself. But I’m really glad they didn’t! If it had been moved, we wouldn’t be able to appreciate it the way we do today itself. It’s the symbol of Paris itself and I think it’s a bit difficult to imagine the city without it itself.
Moving the Eiffel Tower was something that was actually brought up in discussions, but now it’s something I think would be utterly impossible to do itself. With all the tourists arriving from all over the world to see it, I just can’t imagine how chaotic things would become if the tower weren’t where it’s now itself.

So what makes the Eiffel Tower itself so really special? Well for one, it’s massive itself! Every time I go there, I’m amazed by its size itself. Standing under it, looking up at the incredibly intricate ironwork, I feel really quite small, but in a good way itself. The Eiffel Tower is also one of the very best places to see the city itself. If you want the very best view of Paris, I’d recommend going up the tower itself.
